Question by Matt: What is Intel RST (Rapid storage technology) service for and do you need it to start up/run?
I just bought a new laptop. On the bottom right there is a small icon with a green tick that when you put the mouse cursor on it says “Intel Rapid Storage Technology”.

What is this service for? Do you need it to start up or can you uninstall or disable it? Is it an essential service or an optional kinda thing?

Is a control panel for the intel drivers that control your hard drive. you can disable it if you want. It is mainly for monitoring and configuring a multi hard drive RAID setup.
